The final phase involves constructing a virtual 3D model of the object using the processed images. The virtual model may then be used for application in computer graphics, animation, and scientific disciplines.

How Is Digital Or Computer Imaging Done?

The image information is first converted into a light signal and then captured by a camera. The captured images are stored in a frame buffer and manipulated by software to the desired specifications eliminating any distortion on them.

For example, due to the rotation of an object or observer during capturing, cameras are not always situated squarely for the object, which can cause parts of it that were obscured before (from one side) to become visible now (from another site).

Digital imaging can detect these distortions. However, if such distortions cannot be eliminated through digital tools like cropping because important detail has been lost; as a result, additional methods may be used, including physically restructuring the environment or modeling objects in three dimensions using computer graphics.
